Comfort food

Question for y'all:

What Puerto Rican foods comfort you when you're down? Mine is an arroz con jamonilla y maiz my mom makes, which I've never been able to replicate.

White rice with a fried egg (or 2) on top. la comida del pobre :)
I totally agree with the above poster. yum
tostones. i wish i could make 'em like my abuela's, sigh.
arroz con gandules. made by anyone's abuela. always tastes better that way.
it would prolly have to be sorrullos de maiz con cafe con leche.

Sancocho de res con papas, zanahorias y maiz sobre arroz blanco.

El plato favorito de Su Alteza Divina Yukiyú!
My favorite is pernil....LOVE IT......
Arroz y habichuelas rosadas

and Arroz with corned beef, but I can't remember what it is called in Spanish...

Arroz con carne bif, of course

(fuera de gufeo, that's what mom called it)
I would have to say arroz blanco, habichuelas blancas con chuleta frita. If you add tostones it's a bonus. LOVE IT!!!!
